Social life. The opposite of a wallflower, the Asian small-clawed otter is always up for playtime, grooming and interactions of all kinds with its fellow group members. These otters communicate with seven structurally different vocalizations, forage together for crabs, shellfish, snakes, insects and more, and even help raise one another's young. But this cooperative all-for-one lifestyle is under serious threat due to habitat destruction and degradation, as well as poaching for the fur and pet trades.
